Contracts and Restrictions

To view a copy of 2-10 Home Warranty’s service contract agreement, click HERE.

Subject to the limitations, terms and conditions, service applies only to the Eligible Equipment which is in place and in good and safe working order with no pre-existing defects at the beginning of the service period and has become inoperable due to normal wear and tear.

2-10 Home Warranty will not pay for any services performed without prior authorization. You are obligated to pay the trade fee or the actual cost to repair/replace, whichever is less, for each separate trade call (each visit by an authorized service contractor for a single trade).

Coverage starts upon acceptance of application and receipt of applicable contract fees and continues for 365 days from that date. The agreement may be renewed at the company’s option. In that event, you will be notified of the terms, conditions, and rate of the offer.

The provider is the responsible party for honoring cancellation requests, and there are no cancellation fees applied. The agreement is non-cancelable by the company except for fraud, material misrepresentation, or non-payment of fees. If the agreement is canceled by either party, a pro-rated refund of the contract will be reimbursed.

Customer Satisfaction

2-10 Home Warranty offers several plan options for comprehensive coverage with four optional add-ons. Customers can speak to a Customer Service agent by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you can submit your claim online or by phone. You will be required to pay either a $75 or $100 service fee per claim, depending which plan you purchase.

The Better Business Bureau accredited 2-10 Home Warranty on 12/14/2005, giving the company their second-highest rating of “A-“ on a scale from A+ to F. In addition to this score, you can also find reviews for 2-10 (both positive and negative) on the BBB website.

When you compare 2-10 Home Warranty to some of its competitors, you will find some advantages as well as some disadvantages. One of the top benefits that 2-10 Home Warranty offers their customers is the option to customize their plan – choose from three plans with several optional add-ons and two service fee options. As far as disadvantages go, 2-10 does place some limits on their coverage, and the $75 and $100 service fees are a little higher than what some other companies charge.

I am deeply sadden with the service timeliness I received with 2-10 on at least 3 service request numbers, 4207054, 4207047 and 4207038. I ‘ve had so many work request that I forgot how many plumbers have been to our residence. The bottomline is that we have a hole in our kitchen, no hot water in the master bedroom and can’t use the master toilet because it leaks in the kitchen (which now has a whole in the ceiling) Since 3/23/2017 we have been waiting to resolve this plumbing issue. The back facts are as followed. The plumbing service that was requested on 3/23/2017 was never complete. The worker came out, stabilized the leak in master bedroom and said he would be back. He said he was going to order a faucet and come back and install it. He never did! Budget plumbing was unreachable. There voicemail states that they don’t check their voicemails and that it would be best if you called back. They never called back or came back to my residence. 210 tried calling them too and because of no answer they decided to send other contractor out!!! This new company came out 2 weeks ago so around the first week in May. He said it was an easy fix and cut a hole in my kitchen and said he would be back “some time next week”. No call, no show, AGAIN! After several calls to 2-10, I was told someone from contractor relations would call. No calls. I attempted to get a direct number but was denied. Still no call. How can an issue stemmed from 3/23/2017 still go unresolved. I called yesterday and the customer rep was by far the best yet. She seen that the initial order was put in the system as an HVAC issue which would cause problems for the contractor..still no one called me to update me. Then once they got it right, they say I would have to pay an additional 188.00 out of pocket because of the concealed work order. I asked to speak to the manager and she was COLD…very little remorse. She said I have two options, take the buyout or pay the 188.00. I don’t feel like this is the right response with the long lag times in contacting me with my plumbing issues. Why do the contractors get away with not completing a job? With the long time between contractors there was more water damage done. Why can’t no one call me back from contractor relations? Is this job so big that plumbers keep running away from it?
This isn’t even all the details, but there is so much to try and remember. What’s the point in having 2-10 if I gotta do the leg work and find a reputable contractor to start and finish the job. To date I have 3 open work order. Each work order should have been complete. Please read this post and educate yourself before you spend your hard earned money. The customer service overall that I received is subpar and astonishing.

Horrible customer service. They assign to contractor who failed to confirm and failed to respond to several messages to me. Called customer service and they were totally unresponsive to my water heater leakage problem. They have not timeline to respond.

AC has been out since 5/13, cannot get update on delivery of parts that were ordered on 5/19. It is 5/30, we live in South Louisiana, with temps going above 90. Extremely poor customer service

I have been in my home for a month. I had a problem occur 2 weeks into my closing, the reverse valve got stuck on the heating and air system. 210 sent out someone who I could hear banging on something on the heating system outside. The unit has worked fine for another couple of weeks, but stuck again. 210 has declined my claim for over 600,00 because they say that since this is so close to purchase it had to have been pre-exsisting. I will not call them again

Used to be good, went down hill drastically in the last two years, have to fight with customer service to get them to pay anything out, changed denial reasons many times, have to get past tier-1 call center to get anyone who doesn’t read a script. They do everything in their power not to pay out claims.

Absolutely ridiculously terrible experience with 2-10 Home Buyer’s Warranty Company. I moved into my new home on 7/18/14 and called them on 7/21/14 with a complaint that my refrigerator was not getting cold enough. I paid their $100 service fee and the repairman came out and “fixed” it but it then started leaking about a week later. Called back and the 2-10 rep said “oh that’s a new issue” and was going to charge me another $100 service fee but I did manage to argue that it was leaking as a result of the work the repairman had done the week before. So, he came out again and said that he was going to “recommend replacement” of our refrigerator. I was told I should hear something within 48 hours. Over a week later, I called 2-10. They said the repairman had not yet submitted the “diagnosis” on our fridge. They put in a request for that and said it would be 48 hours until I heard back. 48 hours later, I called again. They then couldn’t tell whether or not the repairman had yet submitted the diagnosis. So I asked what I should do and they didn’t have an answer. I waited just a few more hours and they called me and said the repairman had just submitted the diagnosis and that my claim was being denied (all of the sudden, they were fast at something!) “While the compressor in (my) refrigerator had not yet failed, it was starting to fail and, by the bent coils in it, we can tell this did not happen three days after you moved in.” So basically, they decided that since I called this in right away after I moved in, they could use it as an excuse to say this was a “pre-existing condition” and not honor the claim, even though their own repairman said it had not failed yet, my inspector said it was fine at the time of inspection (they completely ignored this after I sent them repeated proof of him saying that from emails to letterheads from the inspector) and the previous homeowners confirmed it showed no signs of having gone bad until after we moved in. They have been terrible to work with and my realtor, as well as others, now know not to use them in the future. DO NOT use 2-10 Home Buyer’s Warranty Company.

My experience has been completely opposite to the April 21, 2014 review. I promise you I am not a shill for 2-10. Bought a house last year and got the warranty with the closing. Air conditioner went out last week. Service person assigned was incredibly good and detected the leak, acquired the part and fixed it within 5 days. 2-10 called to confirm. Found them easy to reach. So, guess it all depends on your location and who they have as a contractor, but here in Knoxville, these guys are good. You may have more issues the more expensive the repair, but I was very well served.

I do not recommend this company. They are not very customer service oriented. I had 6 service calls on the same item. I finally got an issue that was reported in May resolved in October. They kept sending incompetent technicians. Extremely difficult to deal with. Do not use this company unless you have a lot of patience and don’t really care. Their premiums are very expensive.

2/10 warranty is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I filed a claim on my heat in January, here it is March and I still have barely and heat. They nickel & dime the contractors who THEY hire to death, so the battle goes on for months. Meanwhile I suffer the consequences by paying outrageous propane bills for my fireplace that I can never shut off as well as electric bills for running my heat on emergency heat. Whenever I call they put me on hold for extensive periods and transfer me around. They are just awful. I wouldn’t recommend them to my dog.

We have had a few issues that resulted in using 2-10 home warranty after purchasing our home, ALL of the contractors they referred to us, only one every showed up and he took 6 months to get a shower handle, which he never installed because he cussed when he didn’t have the screw. And they continue to use this contractor. RUN, RUN, RUN AWAY from the home warranty company, they pay their contractors the very minimum, so the workers don’t bother showing up. Useless and should be held responsible for all their rip offs!

We received this warranty from the seller of our home in December 2012. We had numerous claims. Many of the repairmen dispatched were barely competent. 2-10 refused to offer us a renewal since they apparently don’t like paying out too much in claims. We’re very happy to take our business and our money elsewhere.

I always knew that in any type of contract, you are required to fill a bunch of paperwork before it becomes a law. Well, this one is different. I was able to insure my items at home without having to fill any paperwork. I was impressed with their quick services in attending to my issues. In addition to that, since going into business with them I have been able to save a lot of money, which come with repairing my appliances. I feel satisfied with their services and way of doing business.
